1968 Camaro Radio, Modern with Original Look
« on: January 28, 2019, 10:18:30 PM »
I'm looking for recommendations on sources an original-looking, modern radio for my 1968 Camaro SS.  I have looked at Classic Car Stereos, and while they look nice, they don't have the same look as the original.  I have done internet searches, and searched CRG, but have not had any luck.

I do have the original radio, but I am going to leave it out after the in-progress restoration and put in a more modern radio.

My Z has an original 69 AM that has the back cut off and a new unit bolted to it. The dial shows AM so you find your stations and use the button presets. It also has the MP and whatever inputs I have never used. I bought it from a vendor at a Charlotte autofest. My 66 GTO has something similar. My SS has the repop unit. They all work OK but only the GTO has kick but speakers to back it up. It is also the only one that sounds "modern". My real sound systems are made by Hooker with speakers by Flowmaster.. They come with inputs for Holley and Comp Cams

:) When I'm driving my Z/28, all I want to hear is the sound of the engine. Don't even turn on the radio....Joe

I might do something like this: Bluetooth Classic Car Glove Box Stereo Hidden Secret Audio System iPod iPhone https://ebay.us/5XESo1
(https://www.woodyscustomshop.com if that link goes away).
Small amp with digital inputs. They have headphone jack inputs on other units...
