Another period stamp example for the DB.
I find it interesting how the letter 'L' in that specific period looks more like a lower case L ( l )
At first one would think the gang holder was at a slight angle but the lower portions of the VIN is shown so that tells me a lower case 'L' was used.
My 67 LOS ME from that period is stamped l7153761 when in fact it should be 7L153767
The stamper must have been having a bad week.

There is quite a bit of variation in the LOS partial VIN stamping for late 1967.  The example shown appears to be legitimate and it is an upper case L.  Note the spacing.

I agree the stamping looks good, but that has to be a wrongly made upper case L as the lower slash doesn't look to be defined well.  Look at reply #38 here: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=10311.msg77958#msg77958    The lower part of the L is not defined because you can see the strike angle is not straight (heavy top and light bottom) though some numbers do have a completed bottom even though light. I wonder if it was the same L stamp used on these blocks.

The lower part of the L is there, it’s just weak. The stamping is heavier/deeper toward the top. Take a look at it with Microsoft photo editor and then see it with Auto Correct. Or use another photo editor and adjust the brightness/contrast/color. That’s a viewing trick to see different levels of detail that is sometimes needed on less than perfect pics.

The L stamp was probably replaced not too long after this partial VIN was stamped.
