Transmission Dipstick Coating?
« on: November 26, 2018, 01:27:46 PM »
Hi Guys,

Do transmission dipsticks have any type of coating on them or are they bare metal and rely on the fluid to prevent rust. I'm using evaporust to clean mine, but if the fluids not going to keep it rust free I'll have to find another dipstick. Thanks

I believe they are just bare metal. After evaporust bath protect the metal with something or spray it with some clear satin lacquer to protect.
