1968 Z28 water pump bypass fitting

Steve, z28z11... I purchased this bypass fitting 3 or 4 years ago for $35 from Steve Pardini at Steve's Camaro's in San Bruno, CA. I thought that was a good deal. I never had bought one before. It was just sitting on his desk and he sold it to me. Wish I had another for our other fellow member needing one. It's a little pitted as mentioned, but will hold up when installed. X2 on hex but limited originals observed but believe that to be what is considered technically correct. Here is an original with stampings.

is that plated brass? or steel with yellow/gold primer?

Steel with a zinc dichromate top coat, unless I guess wrong. Look at the pic of my superseded part for the likely finish spec before painting - GM probably didn't care if the bar stock for making the body was hex or square, just dimensions and finish per print spec.

 Yes I am going to MCACN. I got a round trip non-stop ticket in first class for $900 a month ago or so. Staying across the street. I fly in about 9pm Thursday night. Are we doing dinner Saturday, table of 12?... Can't wait to have a pork chop at Gibson's. Suzy says hi to you & Skip.. Danny
