Good luck Buzz.
Do you know how much if any of the drivetrain is original to the car?
Yes I do Bryon. The motor, trans and rear end are all original to the car, and it still had the original, date correct starter. The original carb and distributor had been swapped with a Holley and Accel distributor. I've since replaced those with date correct pieces and also a date correct water pump, which was changed at some point. I was also successful in recovering the original exhaust manifolds, which had been replaced by Hooker headers.
The wife and I spent the entire day working on the car, mounting a restored, date correct
Carter Quadrajet, fuel lines, kickdown switch and wiring. Earlier, my body man friend stopped out and helped install the firewall blanket and heater. So a respectable amount of progress was made today.
And I just sent the VIN off to the NCRS for their report and I'm very excited to find out the dealer that first had the car!
Best regards,
Buzz
