X66's had 1/4 GILLS as well as TAIL LIGHTS with the vertical trim - and if not a 9561 conversion they also received the front headlamp bezels with trim...
Dave Beem's ONE OWNER Original Paint X66 YENKO - from the first batch of 50.  -
FWIW it appears the rockers were black from FISHER BODY but were taped and painted yellow in the touch up booth at the end of CHEVROLET Assembly.
I have been all over this car when I was out at DAVES place for 10 days and the fenders show no sign of ever being black on the lower sections.

James did Dave add the passenger side mirror?

By process of elimination it was either done at GATES CHEVROLET when it was new OR The original owner must have done it.
FWIW There is no way in hell Dave would drill a hole in the original paint. He has done nothing but put the original wheels in his automatic paint gun cleaner one at a time to remove the black rattle can paint... luckily retaining the original argent paint in the process...

Just so I have a better understanding, if a Camaro required the quarter louvers, they were installed by Fisher? Did the stations (I'm assuming there was one on each side right and left) installing the louvers also have a tool/jig for punching the holes required, or did that happen earlier in the process? Unless the hole punching/louver installation was done at the same time, it would require an error to be made at 2 places on the line in order for a car which was required to have louvers to end up without them.

Is it possible that a car could have been ordered by a dealer with special instructions to have the louvers deleted?

I was thinking all the hole punching would be prior to paint and the louvers would need to be prior interior. So it would seem all was done at the body plant.

Sorry if this was already addressed Steve, but since your car is a 12A car, and you don't know if it is a X66 or not, (I assume it is a Norwood car). Couldn't you just remove the back seat and look for the crayon mark of X 6 , or see what marks are there?
