2018 Camaro is Hugger Orange back?

Hey guys saw that Chevrolet was teaming up with Hot Wheels again for a special edition Hot Wheels Camaro. This time the exclusive color is Orange, and it is not metallic like the 5th gen "inferno orange" . It looks closer to the Hugger Orange of 1969. I think they said the orange is to reminiscent of the orange tracks they have made for the cars since 1968.
For the die hard H.O. crowd this may be what gets them into a 6th gen. I know a handful of CRG members have a 5th gen on here, but I have't heard many owning a 6th gen.

What do you guys think in general of the 6th gen?
( A little lighter than the 5th gen, for SS models about 30 more horsepower. )

I also just noticed the 50 in "50th" on the emblem looks like a hot wheels track, and they moved the RS or SS emblem to the (upper) grill area instead of having it below on the lower (grill) air intake . Looks better .  I like this "Orange Crush" better than the Inferno Orange.

     I own a 6th gen 2017 1SS that I bought in April of this year.  It's an automatic in Red Hot with white rally stripes.  I was thinking of getting one in Hyper Blue Metallic but didn't want to pay extra for that color.  I like it a lot but can't say that I love it.  It handles great, the brakes are great, and it has more then enough power to scare you.  It is too refined though.  It is too quiet and smooth riding.  It doesn't give you that feeling like you are driving a street legal race car that 1st and 2nd gen Z28's do.  Plus it is still hard to see out of toward the right rear.  I know I am old and set in my ways somewhat, but I also could do entirely without the infotainment center.  Just give me a car that goes, stops, and handles, and leave off all the frills (comfort, entertainment, luxury, quiet, etc.).

Thanks for the input Vince. Well I know that the 6th gen as well as the 5th has terrible blind spots. I also know the 6th gen hasn't sold as well as the 5th, but there are many reasons for this. ( no rental fleet, no 10 year absence, and higher sticker for even the base 1SS). Maybe with the infotainment system and the better technology they had to up the prices a bit from the 5th gen?
It will be interesting to see where they go with the car as it evolves. I started another thread on garage told regarding the 2018 COPO having the option of a 302 motor, so just makes you wonder what could be in the works...

I read your other thread.  It was interesting.  I just can't imagine what Chevy could do to make a 6th gen Z28.  For the 5th gen it seemed like the ZL1 was mainly meant for straight line speed and so they made the Z28 a corner carver.  With the 6th gen ZL1 1LE where would a Z28 fit in?  I'm thinking maybe a budget conscious performer with a 302, without all the bells and whistles, with a sticker around $30,000.  We can all dream at least.

Well I was thinking a similar idea but I was thinking it would be priced around 55k and maybe match up to the Shelby R. I think the Shelby R is Fords version of the 65 Shelby GT350R, and is more of a handling machine, with a extra high revving 302.

I liked the idea of the 2014-2015 Z/28, but with the extra fender well extensions, only a few colors, and the crazy price, I thought they missed the mark. Did it handle great yes, but it was the price of 2 camaros, and more than a corvette!

A 1SS (lat time I looked) base priced was about 37k ( 37k was about the price of a loaded 2SS in the 5th gen). SO I am thinking there is no way they are going to undercut the SS. I figure the 2SS has to start somewhere around 44k, so base of a Z I would ponder 50-55k. Plus I think they make it, since they have everything on hand, it will be one last hurray, for 2 years, and then the 7th gen will come out. Kinda the same way they only has a Z/28 in 14 and 15, and then 6th gen. Just a way to up the hype long enough for them to roll out a new model. Just my 2 cents

It looks cool to me.  Its the color of the hot wheels track. Not really Hugger orange at all. 

Real '69 hugger orange was actually much closer to a red.  Not a "bright pumpkin" like you see on so many (incorrect) '69 Camaros today.  The exact same color paint was being used on Pontiac's in '69 and they called it "Carousel Red".

Well I thought it looked closer to hugger orange, than the Inferno Orange they offered on the 5th gen, that had a little metallic in it. I agree with your assessment though, sorry to mislead anyone.
