For the numbers junkies. I was looking at some data about AC usage in 69's. The AC distribution caught my eye.
18% of 69 Camaros had AC (vs 60% of full-size cars!). A higher percent of AC (23-29%) was on the lower performance engines.
Of the cars with AC, 88% were automatics, 12% were manuals. It did vary by engine. The base engines w/ AC were 8-9% manual. But if you ordered an SS with AC, it jumped to 23% manual trans.
So most people bought automatic drivers with AC, but if you were going for a performance version with AC, then you were more likely to get a manual trans (compared to low-po cars).
