rolling chassis?
« on: December 05, 2014, 09:54:02 PM »
please excuse my ignorance here.  may be a dumb question.

is it possible to use a corvette rolling chassis under a gen 1 body?  like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-CORVETTE-C6-DRIVETRAIN-CHASSIS-LS2-6-SPEED-ROLLING-PARTS-ONLY-STREET-ROD-/111530570685

do you just add a frame to the rolling chassis to fit the body?

thanks

there are probably a dozen different businesses whose business is adapting late model Independent Corvette suspensions into all types of car bodies.  I'm sure some of these companies do this for 1st gen Camaros...  (C4 Corvette chassis have been predominant with their standard front eng/trans, but many are doing this also for C5 and C6 suspensions which utilize the rear trans-axle assemblies.)

Tony at Muscle Car Metal out of Seabrook, NH has a custom subframe that he builds for this purpose. To answer your question "do you just add a frame to the rolling chassis to fit the body?", the answer is no.
