Shippers/haulers (from MI to FL preferred)
« on: October 16, 2014, 01:40:27 PM »
Howdy:

Wondering if anyone has used a shipper, and any with a good recommendation.  Have one I'd like to bring from MI to FL.

Thanks

When do you need it shipped Doug? Where in MI to where in FL? I've been thinking about taking a trip to FL in the not too distant future. I have the rig pictured below. You can PM me if you'd like.

It's in Milford currently.  It'd be coming to south of Tampa, but I'm willing to travel some of the way to grab it.  Might also be able to have that happen on the other end, not sure.

Also not entirely sure on a date, deal isn't done and I need to have somebody give it a once-over for general condition & any operational issues of concern.

Very nice, I have a 25' Haulmark, that I bought new back in 07. It does not have the side door like yours to get in and out of the car though. The trailer does come in handy though, besides cars, I have moved our family from California to Indiana and back. It has more than paid for itself with all the moving we have done, and was a great tool to have last year when I made a quick round trip up to Seattle in a weekend to pick up a car.
it does get pretty heavy when loaded to the ceiling with our stuff though....

Have you refinished the inside of yours at all?

The first time I loaded it I ended up with over 2k on the hitch when I went to weigh it! That was before I bought a hitch scale... Weight adds up quick when you're moving household goods.
The inside came finished, but I added four additional floor d-rings and roof rings (for kayaks). Also, a ton of E-track as well as a Maxxair roof vent, a winch and a modified car alarm etc.
I don't want to turn his post into a thread about my trailer though, so I'll leave it at that ;-)

Doug D if you want someome that specializing in relocating automobiles call  A.K.A.  out of Richmond VA. 1- 253-302-6086. Russel Able is very helpful in getting the job gone when I sold  and shipped from west coast to east coast.

If this ever comes up these guys haul mi/oh to Florida. The are based in Florida. Nice semi/ enclosed trailer like the big boys. He hauled for us before but my dads 57 Ford retractable came home this year with buckled quarters and the continental kit fell apart.  We found it after the guy left when the passenger door wouldn't open. Figured the bolts just loosened up on continental.  Not so. They are minuteman out of I think Avondale. They wouldn't do anything but knew something happened.
