Yellow 69 Camaro Design car
« on: May 22, 2014, 04:44:45 PM »
I know this car has been discussed previously (Yellow 69 Camaro design car with the berlinetta styled wheels and stripes)

The horn button has Z/427 on it and the car has the never released sport shift option, other pictures show a subtle flare at the rear of the front fender and a molded in rear lip spoiler.

What's up with the 69 Camaro picture shown as a 1970 model year? (Revs Diginal Library)

They might have been looking at carrying the body over one more year. The corvette has the 70 style side vents. Didn't they have a hard time trying to stamp some of the panels on a 70 1/2? I heard that was one of the reasons for the longer 69 production.

Chevy Chief Designer Bill Mitchel's custom built 1969 Z/427 Camaro
 used in a Camaro calendar

I think it also had a molded in front bumper

don't forget one other little upgrade - the ZL1 engine

cool looking wheels also

From that picture looks like it has the endura bumper. You can make out the seams of it, definanly does not look molded.

I'd be willing to bet that that is one of the two special ZL1 styling Camaros GM made mid model year.  They were both oringally black with gold pinstriping, 70 style mirrors, those funky front spoilers, endura bumpers etc.  One was an Auto, the other was a standard transmission car.

the yellow Camaro has an amazing amount of small custom details

The front bumper is molded in and looks like it is a one piece grill and bumper

The Super Scoop looks to be extended on the back

The wheel wells are flared

I have never seen a pic of the back of the car so hope that ones turns up
as there must be spectator pictures of it sitting around in an attic somewhere

I blewup these pics to show the grill/bumper

Jon M posted these pics awhile ago I believe taken at Elkhart Lake Road America
Chevy brought some nice Camaros there including the 67 Cherokee, 68 Z/28 convertible, and the Z/427

you can see people taking pictures of it

the custom painted Chevy show truck/trailer in the background

I hope that some more pics of it turn up as they get found and uploaded
