Yes, but it touches the adjuster just a little bit. There really only 2 ways to install the spring: 1)The wrong way with the spring resting right on top of the adjuster wheel. 2) You want to install it with the larger hook of the spring going over the adjuster wheel, and into the other shoe. And then the metal bracket ( the one with the white ink stamp in the picture) rests against the adjuster and provides a little tension, so when you get the drum on and adjust the shoes you hear the clicking of that piece on the wheel (also so it won't back off).
