Paul
Thank you..........
I went and looked at both these cars Friday 07/12. the Orange RS is s dog with many many issue one of the many major ones being about 2" of water in the trunk from being washed every day. We tried to take a test drive but the car would not run. Battery died and the linkage is out of adjustment or bent and would not go into any other gear but first. We made it about a 1/2 a block and just left it and walked back to the dealership after it would not start. I had tried to manipulate the shifter with the engine off, key on. Lock out is gone and it would not move into any gear but first, but not with the engine running.Glove box door would not close, gauges in console were off kilter and not sitting right.Holes in the headliner, the a arm flaps were screwed to the fender wells, both hood and trunk were hard to open and close and out of alignment. I could go on and on
We tried to test drive the Yenko CLONE! but they could not get the doors open or find the correct keys
I told them when they get their act together I'll come back and we can try again.
Cheers

No, that one's not in there either. Thanks for the link to the others.

A new car dealership is not a good place to buy a classic muscle car.  Those cars need work and are overpriced.

It looks like the sales managers attempt at making a quick buck based on book values like they do with late model cars. Doesn't work that well with all the variables on 40+ year old cars.

This 68 is having an identity crisis, labeled as a 67 RS, with 69 seats, mismatched tires, and the list goes on.

They do do a good job of showing the tires and wheels in all their ads, and the VIP service sounds like a good thing for your everyday car.

I agree but they are in my neighborhood and it was worth a try, you never know what you might find. That being said the 2 guys I dealt with were not typical pushy salesmen and they both admitted they new nothing about the cars. Refreshing honesty is a nice thing to find these days. The Orange RS has potential if you could get it for about 30K it would need 10 to get it back into shape but the screw holes in the fender wheels for the a arm flaps really bother me and is not an easy repair.
I was going to take photos to post but the battery died in my phone
Enjoy your weekend one and all

You might be right, but i don't think you will ever get that car for 30K. They are asking 70K. I can only assume they way over paid  and are waiting for a bigger fool.

If you want to buy from a dealer, try back in the day classics on Avalon at the 405. Talk to Gary K. At least they know classics.

It's a good thing that 68 doesn't need to be smogged. The exhaust is supposed to exit behind the passenger compartment, otherwise it will fail automatically. - this is from experience when I had to smog my 69 prior to them moving the date to 1974
