1969 Penske Blue?

Now I know this question must have been asked a 1,000 times before, but I wonder if there is an answer out there I've missed.  Our 69 ZL1 race car is off to the paint shop. We are not doing a complete trans-am replica as it's got a 427 under the hood, blue interior colour, black door cards,  but we do sticker the car up as a Penske car as outside of the States and Goodwood Festival of Speed we will never see one race over here.  And its great to see kids big and small fall in love with the car. If any one has got any info, we would greatly appreciate any help.  I've read the thread about the 67  68 colour, but from the photos I've seen it looks a little darker.  Many thanks Simon

Hi Simon, it looks like you have had a reasonably close Penske-style paint job on the car already. If the color's not exact, it certainly seems "close enough". Were you not happy with it?

Thanks for the link to the previous thread, all the photos I've seen from the Trans-am years the 67 68 cars where painted in one colour blue but the 69 cars where darker.

Yes we are pleased with how the car looked last year but the blue was an inherited paint job and if someone knew the correct shade nows the time to change it.

I've seen the '69 cars look lighter than the earlier ones. It all depends on lighting, angle, time of day, etc.

Out here on the West Coast, the weather's been fine. The Midwest and Northeast has had a much harder time.
