I think Trim Tag photo is attached. Nothing special, just want to verify what I have.

Thanks!

Tom:

Please check question 4 at the following:  http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml

Your cowl tag indicates the following:

ST69      1969 Model year
12437 Fisher Body Style; 12 = Camaro; 4 is fixed and has no meaning; 37 = Coupe
The following is extracted from:  http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#VINvsStyle      The 3rd digit of the VIN determines which engine the car had from the factory; this VIN digit has a different meaning than the 3rd digit of the Fisher Body firewall cowl tag. A VIN engine digit of 3 indicates a L6 engine, while a VIN engine digit of 4 indicates a   V8 engine.   Though seemingly similar, the 3rd digit of the Fisher Body firewall cowl tag style did not have the same meaning. Fisher Body didn't need the type of engine coded on the cowl tag, and so stamped the Fisher style code  differently from the VIN. The cowl tags for 1967 Camaros were stamped with a style code of 12x37 or 12x67, where the x was set to 4 for standard interior or 6 for custom interior. All 1968-9 Camaros had a style code of 12437 or 12467 on the cowl tag - thus the 3rd digit of the firewall style number for these two years was fixed and effectively had no meaning.
NOR       Norwood, Ohio Assembly Plant
266605BDY  Fisher Body Sequence Number
TR 727 Standard Interior, Ivory/Black w/black seat belts  (Also refer to:  http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#InteriorColors)
50 B PNT   PNT = paint code; 50 = Dover White Body Paint, B = Black Vinyl Top
02D     Month & Week When Fisher Body Began to Build the Body; 02 = February, D = 4th Week of the Month
X11    Style Trim Group (RPO Z21) or Rally Sport (Z22) included; non-BB, non-Z28, including SS-350;  (For a thorough discussion, refer to question 11 a the following:  http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml

What is the 3rd digit of your VIN #?  As indicated above the 3rd digit of the VIN # will indicate V8 (if it is a 4) or 6 cyl engine (if it is a 3).

Rich,

Thanks! VIN: 124379N601591

Everything matches with the car except the Vinyl top. I personally know the last two owners, and have no recollection of that, but will ask them.  I was already pretty sure, but just looking for confirmation. It's just a base 307 glide. As far as I know drive train should be mostly original, I understand there was a head exchange two owners back, and a new crank by the last owner. I;m not sure where this is headed yet. Never was a fan of vinyl tops. I'm really just looking for a fun driver.

Thanks again
