real stamping ?
« on: April 23, 2012, 11:38:46 PM »
http://www.ebay.com/itm/330722145356?item=330722145356&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:L:LCA:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr              Bought this on ebay several years ago 5 minutes after it was listed for around 400.00 from a quad parts dealer[listed price was 600 or 700.      Lines on pad  are not from decking but from seller scraping the pad   I have seen many stamps where the last # is deep and offset[escpecially corvettes] .  Seller swore it was something he had forever and there was no restamping. The 400.00[including him driving 2 hours to meet me] price tag led me to believe it was real as any 4 bolt block in nice condition is worth twice that and normally asking prices for  restamps of rare motors are high  . Havet seen another L89 block so looking to see if anyone has anexample to compare. Block is dated about a week prior to stamping . It is a factory 4 bolt not a converted block,no crack or sleeves

Why not list the complete partial VIN and post your block in the orphans section?

I agree.  I believe all members should give other members a real shot at acquiring THEIR orphaned part.  It should not be all about money.

Stamping seems OK to me.  Price seems awful high unless you have the car to match the block.

I know Ed.  I don't have the power to edit, so all I can do is merge.   ;)
