1969 ZL2 Air Cleaner Stud Finsih
« on: December 20, 2012, 08:43:08 PM »
What finish should the air cleaner stud exhibit on a cowl induction set-up for a 69 Camaro? The air cleaner is black as is the wingnut so, should the stud be black phosphate, or not?

Thanks,

Mark Donnally

I think the stud was a dark phosphate, but I don't believe the factory wingnut was black.......

Although the black wingnut would make sense with the black ZL2 air cleaner lid, the Assembly Manual shows differently. The Z/28, L-34/35 and L-78 (chrome air cleaner lids) all use the #219281 chrome wingnut, but the ZL2 shows the same production wingnut used on everything else (#9418699).
