Glass dates
« on: October 17, 2012, 10:58:45 PM »
Have a 9000 documented mile 69 L89. Glass dates[It is a Feb build car}  are   VV pair[DEC 68] and AV pair[Sept 68] for the side glass and quarters ,and XV [Feb 69] for the windshield and back glass. Are they normally spaced like this . None of the glass has ever been replaced before.

I recently looked at the glass dates on my 67 NOR 5B car that has the original doors and quater glass and found the following:
L-QTR- April 67
R-QTR - Jan 67

L-Door - April 67
R-Door April 67

L-Vent - Dec 66
R-Vent - June 67 (this I did replace back in the early 80's)

The glass in my 02D Norwood '69 Z/28 is all original/untouched, and all of it is dated December '68 except the back window, which is February '69. The remote mirror glass is September '68.

John - I didn't realize the remote mirror's were date coded. Mine reads 9-DMI-8. If I'm reading this correctly our mirror's are dated the same. I'm also assuming its DMI and not DM1. Can you or Ed tell me what the letters stand for and am I correct in saying its dated Sept. of '68?

One last question; Would it be safe to assume all remote mirrors had the same dates for the '69 model year?

Nope. They were probably made in batches, as the option volume was pretty low; there were probably several batch dates through the year.
