Help with knees hitting steering wheel
« on: September 09, 2011, 03:45:24 AM »
Ok so I have a manual 4 speed 67 camaro. I currently have stock leather seats and a steering column that isnt adjustable. When I drive and let the clutch out I have to bend my knees around the steering wheel. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?? Im looking at gettin a new seat? adjust seat brackets?? new steering column?? What do you guys think??

What steering wheel do you have and how tall are you? We need to know this before we can troubleshoot.

What about those seat anchor extensions you see on eBay some time. Anybody ever used them? They claim to move the seat back a couple inches I think.

Yes. I have them on my car. They put the seat 2 inches farther back.
Works great for me and I am 6'4".

Leather seats were not available on a 67 Camaro. Did you mean leather covers on stock seats or is there a chance you have the wrong seats ?
