Replacing brakes
« on: January 27, 2011, 03:07:50 PM »
This spring I am going to replace the brakes on my 67 Camaro. With all the new disc brake kits that are on the market I am contemplating putting discs of the front of my car. Presently I have power brakes. Question is, what would be the best way to go? Stay original? (car is not numbers matching) put on manual discs or power?

Thanks

Definitely stay with power brakes. You might consider converting to a 69 style power disc set up. Pretty effective system and plentiful and an upgrade from power drums. Rear are a different story, there use to be something about using S-10 hat in drum style disc, an aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve and calipers and building your own bracket on a 12 bolt but I don't remember everything about it. Maybe someone else can chime in.
