Ram style exhaust manifolds
«
on:
October 25, 2005, 10:43:32 AM »
Can anyone tell me the advantage if any of having what I think is called "ram style" exhaust manifolds versus the regular style exhaust mainifold? I have a pair that I was going to put on my 67 350. I have seen written that the Ram style is consider similar to headers but less expensive. Any thoughts out there in CRG land?
??
Thanks

The "ram's horn" type used on Corvettes, full-size cars and trucks are more efficient than the A-F-X "log" type, but there are interference issues when used on a Camaro; that's why we have the "log" type.

Jonhz:
What type of interference issue are you referring to?
Anything that can be addressed or just not worth the effort or expense to adapt?
thanks

Steering gear and subframe crossmember - not worth the effort.
