1969 Camaro Z28 - good deal? What to look for?

Hi all...I'm new to this forum. I posted this thread on another forum and someone suggested posting here. They said you guys are the 1st gen experts!
I am considering buying a 1969 Camaro Z28, but not sure on how to determine what a good price is and what to ask or look for? Here are the details I have about the car I am looking at...any input on whether this is a reasonable deal would be appreciated (sorry for the long first post):

1969 Camaro Z/28 302
- 4speed
- 61,000Kms
- CE warranty replacement block, numbers matching intake, heads, carb, Muncie M21, 12-bolt, too many parts to list. Lots of correct spare parts. 10-year old restoration. American car.

Asking price: $31,000 (Canadian)

I've known about the car for years and wondered about the axle ratio.
I wonder no more - fake tag. Probably not a real Z with that axle, probably was an SS.

As you saw in Kurt's post above, you definitely came to the right place. These guys are very, very good. If you get to the place where you  are serious about buying a '69 Z, I would recommend contacting Jerry MacNeish. Jerry will inspect the car for authenticity for a very reasonable cost. I've used him multiple times in the past and he has saved my bacon.

Thanks John.  I will keep that name in mind if I get to the point of seriously considering a purchase.  It's too bad about this one it looked like a pretty clean car.

Fraud is rampant on these cars. It was very smart to ask for advice. Have you purchased Jerry's book? See http://www.z28camaro.com/publications.html. Invaluable resource for what you are seeking. If you get the book, you will see that there are several things wrong on the list you provided above.
