67' POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY
« on: March 10, 2010, 03:50:16 PM »
I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between power steering pump pulley #3770509 and 3860457? They are both for a 1967 Camaro with v-8 engine. I know the first is for a 327, and the second is for a 350 ss. I'd like to know what the physical difference is between the two pulleys.
Thanks,
Sean

I had examples of both but I only have a 457 now. The difference is the offset of the groove in relationship with the pump. One is further forward than the other but I can't remember which one. This affects the alignment with the crank and water pump pulleys. If you have the wrong pulley the belt won't be straight.

Marty,
Thanks. That's what I was trying to determine. I have the 327 pulley, but I need the 350 pulley, the one you have. I purchased one through a local vendor, but it has the same offset as the one I have, so it's not the right one. I'll have to keep looking.
Thanks,
Sean

the 327 pulley is the 457
the 350 pulley is the 509

See the pulley chart on the site.
