What options came with the Z21 style trim group?
« on: April 08, 2006, 03:04:23 AM »
If you ordered the Z21 style trim group, what options did you get?

I believe these are the options, but is this all?  Did you have to get all of them or could you mix and match?  Was the fender and quarter panel pinstripe included with this style trime group option?  what determined if you got this pinstripe?  What about the blacked out rocker sills?

Z21 included the following?  Is this correct?

Chrome roof drip rails
quarter panel louvers
wheel well moldings
lower rocker molding
chrome headlight rings
blacked out rocker sill
fender and quarter panel pinstripe

Mostly correct.

All '69s had the "lower rocker molding", style trim or not. Obviously convertibles did not have the drip rails. Z21 also included bright vertical trim on the tali lamps. Colors 51, 57, 61, 67 did not receive black rockers. The D96 pin stripes could be ordered on a car w/o style trim. If a car was ordered with Z21 and an optional stripe [D90, DX1] the pin stripes would not be applied.

RS included style trim. SS included some of the style trim features.

And a Z/28 ordered with Z-21 (an X-33 car) didn't get the pinstripes.

To further complicate the issue Z10 & Z11s had orange Z/28 style stripes and D96 pinstripes, but not black rockers.

How they got all the trim/stripe/option color permutations straight on the line is a mystery to me. The only error I know of was ZL1 #59: black pin stripes on one side, white on the other.
