Some of the aftermarket companies sell a starter wrap that displaces the heat. It has a shiny side that looks like foil, wraps like a blanket around starter, attaches with wire ties, it maybe made of asbestos, not sure. I've used it in the past with good results. I think I got mine from summit. inexpensive solution.

I doubt very much that a current product is being made with asbestos. There are better, safer alternatives. Many uses of asbestos were banned as of 1978.
