The GM dealer shop that just put one on for me said it was, and I quote, "a non-staining nitrile adhesive" --whatever that means....

Corey, as Sauron327 states, use 3M 8090 Super Spray trim adhesive, or better yet use Weldwood Contact Adhesive for vinyl tops that comes in gallon and 5 galon cans. You can spray it through a normal paint spray gun thus giving you better control, and a more even coverage than the 3M stuff from a spray can. Check out the link below for the Weldwood stuff, and you should be able to find it locally...........RatPack............................

Aloha to all
I have a 1969 Camaro she is not a specialty car RS/SS/Z28 she is just a stock plain jane with some options added.  My questions is should I paint first and then install my vinyl top or install the vinyl top then paint, some shops that I have contacted want to install the vinyl top first I believe they are worried they may damage the new paint job what do you think? and my next question how long after painting should I wait to install the vinyl if I it install after painting?   Thank you     Bobbie

I have not gotten to mine yet, but the plan eventually is POR 15 or comprable where the top will be, then paint the whole car, then add the top.

Definitely paint the entire car then add the top about a month or so down the road to allow the paint to "outgas". You don't want to install it too soon and take a chance of the glue "lifting" the paint...............RatPack...................
