250 Fender Emblems
« on: March 19, 2006, 02:27:03 PM »
Does anyone know of a source for 250 fender emblems?  Tried ordering through Year One but they no longer stock them.  I've about exhausted my resources.

I have seen recently on EBAY 2 sets of NOS 250 emblems and the last set didn't even sell I would keep looking there.

If you have exhausted most of the nationally known sources, try these guys...

This is part of the Modern Automotive Group in Winston-Salem, NC.  (I see you are from Georgia... Lived in Stone Mountain for three years, myself.) Modern Chevrolet has their own classic parts department.  I know they used to stock some 250 stuff, and because of their inventory, it usually just pays to call and ask.  --I'd call, not email.  Lots of times, their guys will try and figure out where yoiu can find it even if they have discontinued it.

And good for you on keeping it original!

Thanks Philip.  I'll give them a try.  I contacted Trim Parts, Inc. who manufactures most of the emblems for Ricks and Year One.  Their response was that there just wasn't any demand for them.  Real shame 'cause I know that I can't be the only person with a 250 L6 out there.  I'm beginning to believe that if I ever do find them, I'll pay as much for them as what the car is worth!

On another note, I'm surprised that there aren't more individuals who want and desire to keep their Camaros original.  To me, that's the beauty of having a car like this.  Yea, I could drop a 350cu in it but then it becomes just another suped up car; not the 67 that rolled off the showroom floor.  It's a challenge to keep it as original as I can.  Especially with parts being discontinued.  And I'm sure it will only get worse the longer I have this car.  Guess I've been religated to the junk yard/swap meet crowd.  ARGH!

Okay, here's a little more info for you...

The 67 Camaro 250 Fender emblem was also used on other models.

Group 8.147 - P/N 3904567

1967 Chevelle
1967 Nova
1967 Camaro
1969 Nova

Both sides are the same P/N so check with your local Chevy dealer. They've probably been superceeded by another number, but they can check that for you. You just never know what you'll find!!
