69 Z28 exhaust
« on: November 27, 2008, 12:27:22 PM »
I want to put new headers on my 69 Z28.  Any suggestions to which brand and style I should purchase?  Also should I go to an exhaust shop to have the hearers back built?

Hooker and Stahl are some of the best.  Not the cheapest but good products are not cheap.  Get tuned headers, all tubes are the same length.  Can probably get Hookers through Jegs or Summit, 1 3/4" is a good tube size.  I would also consider step headers.

I have Thorley Tri-Ys. The backdrive linkage can be modified to work with them. A feature I like.

we put matte black jet hot coated Hooker Super comps on the 69 Z... white ceramic coated would be vintage as well.

You can buy entire exhaust systems from headers to tailpipes and install yourself.
