69 tachometer help
« on: October 19, 2007, 01:30:54 AM »
The tach in my car has recently started to "jump" at idle. I mean that it  quickly fluctuates 500 rpms up and down without the engine speed changing. Once the idle speed is increased, the  jumping stops and it appears to read accurately. ANy idea what could cause this.

I experienced the exact problem, sounds like you need a tach filter, are you running electronic ignition? Try this easy and inexpensive fix, worked great for me and I installed it in the harness near the drivers kick panel out of sight.
