Wrong body tag?
« on: April 28, 2024, 06:04:53 PM »
Was watching GAA auctions when a 69 SS went off. Car body tag was NOR129338 09D with X11 D80. VIN was 124379N690327 which lines up with 09D but body tag seems to line up with early model year Sept production date when X codes weren't in use. Sold for 60K.🤔 SMH

Nothing wrong with the tag. N690327 was final assembled on or about September 25, 1969.

Body number sequencing was reset to 100001 when the extended MY production run began August 1969.

That is not at all out of the norm for body numbers. Had nothing to do with production scheduling.

The first ZL-1 Camaro built December 30, 1968 is N569358/NOR222002. #14 is N609238/N222001 built March 5, 1969.
