The Mallory RevPol DoubleLife dual-point distributor is unique? It only has a 4-Lobe Point Cam. Each point set fires only 4-times per revolution rather than 8-times, each point-set fires only 4-times each to fire all 8 cylinders. Is this correct?

The Mallory RevPol DoubleLife Dual Point 4-Lobe Distributor should be more rpm friendly since the point-sets are cycling at a lower rate?"

YES, to the above two points about the Mallory RevPol distributor.. and as I stated previously...
I can only speak for my own... When I bought my car and rebuilt the engine in 1976, the 480' was sloppy, needed shimming at the very least, and I had a perfect Mallory Rev Pol in hand, so I installed the revpol and used a Judson electronic magneto for the coil- that worked great, would rev to 8G+ without a miss... I would not hesitate to use it again in a modified Z28 or other small block Chevy car...
