Clutch Fan Identification
« on: July 08, 2023, 06:50:24 PM »
I have a 67 RS 327/210 HP which currently has a flex fan installed. A clutch fan was provided when I purchased the car an I am trying to identify if it was the original clutch fan. The only numbers are "L0172SC" stamped on two places of the fan to pulley flange, an "M" or "W" stamped on one fan blade to center hub and a "4" stamped on one of the fan blades. See pictures. Any help identifying this clutch fan is appreciated.

My understanding is cars with the C60 air conditioning received the clutch fan. I have seen a date stamp on the clutch portion where yours has numbers stamped. My 11A LOS car with AC also has the clutch fan. Wish I could tell you more information.

Yes, I have a Five rivet version stamped (The Clutch) "L2773SC" as a spare unit laying around.
Not much to decode these as they were used in many applications for decades across the GM line.
