Pal-Nuts
« on: September 20, 2022, 06:05:51 PM »
Hello All:
Does anyone know what size pal-nuts are used to secure the rear trunk lid emblem (Camaro by Chevrolet) on a 1969 .
To me they look like 8/32?
Thank you all in advance!

NUT, Hex Flange Stamped, thread cutting
PN 9419753
1/8 HX FLNG STAMPD NUT 5/16 AF .53 D BLK ZC. 10 pk
Source AMK part number B-10629

Now this might be close, the trunk Nut likely had sealer and carried a different Fisher (GM) PN
The pins on the Header and trunk 68/69 emblems are small and I think going off memory they are smaller than say a 8-32 machine screw thread.

Others have better catalogs and parts books and will chime in also.

Thanks 169INDY for the information
There appears to be a steel sleeve over the pointed cast emblem material. The emblem is stuck in there so I doing want to break it. I did measure the steel sleeve and the OD is .159 and is about 3/16 deep. I'm sure there was some sort of gasket in the pal-nut. Someone before me just use silicone with no nuts to keep the water out of the trunk.
Thanks
