Hello everyone
,
often looked at the site for information, but hereby my first contribution to the forum.
I am the owner of 1968 Camaro vin 12437HX100077 which was originally assembled in Antwerp Belgium. subsequently immediately received its first ascription in the Netherlands on January 15, 1968. The car got license plate 29-90-FA which i have with al the original Dutch Title papers. When the car is done. The original Dutch License 29-90-FA will get back on the Car.
The previous owner bought the car in the early 1980s. and was fixing it up after which he ended up in a ditch with a test drive. he was then done with it put it away in a corner and bought another 1968 camaro. exchanged a number of parts with the old Camaro and then used this car daily until 2015. In 2015 he sold his daily Camaro and then the Donor Camaro could also go and all extra parts. so I bought it then. knowing it had been off the road for almost 35 years and was a project with many missing parts.
It is a v8 automatic with console Gauges and tic o tach. power disc brakes and power steering. Deluxe houndstooth interior with rear window defroster. 200 km/h odometer. The original color according to the Antwerp plate would be the Opel color 441 "Nevada beige metallic". however, according to the license plate, he is Bronze. maybe be repainted in the 70ties.
The car itself is currently a rolling body where I still have the last bit of work to do to see if all the body panels fit together properly. after that it can be treated and painted.
In recent years i collected quite a few old dutch photos of 1967 and 1968 Camaros sold new in the Netherlands and there are dozens of them, but unfortunately never came across a photo of my Camaro.
My father (owner of "The Dutch Corvette Collection") has an Antwerp built 1967 Camaro 6 cylinder manual gearbox. silver with red interior in concours condition. I will also post more information about that later.
Greetings Michel Boer
