I know the CRG does not encourage politicizing on this site, so I'll make this comment as apolitical as I can. Until we stop sending so much of our manufacturing out of this country, logistical problems like this will always loom on the horizon. "Globalization" has led many of our wholly American based companies to look outside of our borders for cheap labor rates, and little or no import duties to make up for the jobs lost here as a result. Over my career (45 years and still working) of dealing with machined components of just about all material types, I've watched the decline and loss of manufacturers in stamping, injection molding, cold heading, steel, iron, aluminum, and superalloys automotive, aerospace and general component machining, even wood working and textile manufacturing to Mexico and the Orient in ever increasing numbers. Add the pharmaceuticals and electronics, and it gets even worse. Either we start bringing back those jobs (unlikely ?), or we become a service based economy, which already has 10 million job openings nationwide. Sound familiar ?
