« on: February 03, 2021, 11:41:43 PM »
Title of eBay action as follows:

1968 Camaro Salesman Campaign (Bonus Pay) Ex-Sell-Erate, Sales Certification

Information as follows:

N358435 date delivered 2-6-68
N359602 date delivered 2-8
N365530 date delivered 3-8

Salesman info says Tampa

Pretty cool info on the campaign pamphlet as well that might be of use for research maybe not sure, but I figured I let the experts sort it out. Can’t figure this photo crap out using my phone so someone with the know how please post if needed.

Interesting, but without the full VIN or car details it’s not if much value for CRG database and research purposes. In my opinion...

I did all the possible combinations on the three VINs on VinAudit.com

124378N358435 comes back as a good VIN.

                                                                - Warren

Just looked at the last picture on the pamplet and it shows 123378N358435 as the VIN. There is a mistake somewhere.

The first VIN listed is complete on the last page as a 6 cylinder coupe, 123378N358435.

Short list makes you wonder if the salesman was a short term guy himself - $37.50 spiff per car doesn't spread too far, even in 1968 $'s -

Regards.

Yes and as I said, at least for CRG purposes, a VIN by itself does not do much. Have to have at least some good information on the car such as the cowl tag data. Drivetrain data, POP, or original paperwork are most desired.

Let's see in March '68 I enlisted in the military.   Made $85/mo while in basic, then as a 1-striper upon getting out of basic, pay jumped to a whopping $95/mo...    :)    Of course, I also got 'free' room/board, running/exercises, and all the harrassment a man could stand at that rate... :)

One of my dad's friends decided that enlisting in the US Army during WWII was a good way to see the world.  On his first day in combat, as 3 German Mk. IV tanks approached, he grabbed a bazooka and when he got within 35 yards, he attempted to fire the weapon, but nothing happened.  It seems in his haste, the batteries had fallen out of the bazooka.  Somehow dad's friend managed to survive the war, although he was wounded later in action.  I always wondered how he got away from the tanks!

Interesting document though. Don't often see these dealer promos.
Notice the calendar year ending VIN's are listed on the document - 8L321968 and 8N366995. The LOS car matches the month-ending records, but the month-ending NOR car is 8N368090.
