Multiple 1969 Camaro convertibles were used in official capacities during the Labatt's 50 Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Canadian American Challenge Cup (Can-Am) event held at Le Cirquit Mont-Tremblant, St. Jovite, Quebec, Canada on Sunday, June 15, 1969.  Denny Hulme won the race in his Chevrolet powered McLaren M8B.

Not only was a 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 convertible used as the pace car but color film footage shot by a spectator also shows that multiple Daytona Yellow 1969 Camaro RS/SS convertibles with Endura front bumpers were used to parade some of the race drivers around the track prior to the event.  There could have been more but six Camaro convertibles are shown in the footage and all have white interiors, black D90 side stripes, and base hub caps with trim rings.

See the footage here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_-3wo6uiAw  The title is mislabeled "1968" but it is definitely 1969.

This first/second photos show one of the Daytona Yellow 1969 Camaro RS/SS convertibles driving through the spectator area.  Notice the '67 or '68 Camaro parked behind the Triumph TR-6 and just under the Daytona Yellow 1969 Camaro RS/SS convertible.  It looks like it could be an SS396 from the look of the black tail panel??  The photo came from nuvomagazine.com

The second photo shows the track from the perspective of a Camaro driving around it.  It was taken by race photographer Pete Lyons and a larger version can be seen here: https://petelyons.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/Can-Am-1969-With-11-races-this-was-the-Can-Ams-longest-season-with-11-wins-McLarens-best-year/G0000O9pp4.MIg.I/I0000tH_qJksA0_E/C0000evpnMYhHl.4

The footage also demonstrates that the other drivers were chauffeured around the track in multiple orange 1969 Firebird 400(?) convertibles and multiple green 1969 GTO convertibles.  Three Firebird convertibles and two GTO convertibles can be viewed in the footage, although there were probably more of each as well.

These photos show the 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 convertible that was used as the pace car for the event in the pit area prior to the start of the event.  Both of these photos look like they were taken at the same time but from different angles.  The #5 McLaren is the winning car of Denny Hulme.

More photos of the Camaro pace car in the pits prior to the start of the event.  These were taken by Dave Friedman.  You used to be able to see larger and clearer versions of these images on the web but the pictures from this particular race were not posted on their new Flickr site, so no link is available for them.

The color film footage also briefly captured the 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 convertible in front of the mighty Can-Am field on the pace lap.

This photo of the Camaro on the pace lap appears on page 82 of the book authored by Pete Lyons entitled, "Can-Am."  It is credited to Claire Lyons McHenry.

These photos show the Camaro pace car in pit lane after it released the Can-Am cars to start the race with the green flag.

Photos 1 & 2 were taken by Dave Friedman but can no longer be found on the web.

Photos 3 & 4 are from the Remembering Circuit Mont-Tremblant - St. Jovite Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/tremblantjovite/?ref=group_header
You can see the back of the Camaro with the yellow flags parked on the grass in pit lane next to the guard rail.

Dave Friedman also took several photos of the Camaro pace car after the event featuring the winner Denny Hulme.  These are also no longer available on the web.

Here are a few close up photos of the door decal used on the 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 convertible pace car.  I cropped them from photos of the car being used at another event held at the track.  A thread of this event will be posted in the future.

It looks like they took the "OFFICIAL PACE CAR" section of the original Z11 decal and moved it lower on the door and then added the red logo of the track above it.
