Headlight Adjusting Screws & Nylon Nuts
« on: June 30, 2021, 01:03:44 AM »
Are people seeing three different headlight adjusting screws used. All are black finish with tapered ends. 69 are Phillips head. 68 are slotted with a small hex head, and 67 are Phillips but shorter than 69. Also are the nuts two prong or four prong.  Thanks

I believe some are white also. At least that's is what's on my original 67 RS capsules.
The nuts are nylon and aftermarket are not in my experience.

67 adjusters screw length is 1 3/8" and so are the NOS #5953005 as listing in AIM in my pics in other thread posted above.
They are not black nor are the original ones I have.

I don't know about other years.

I thought the screws would be black finish oxide

As shown in my photo post, the screws are (dry) media blasted. From my experience they would have been clear (silver) zinc plated originally rather than phosphated (to my knowledge oxide finishes weren't used on Gen 1 Camaros).
