The assembly manual shows a ground for the turn signals/ parking lights. My light assemble has no ground wire am I missing something?

No, the drawing in the AIM was carried over from 67. The 68 PL assembly mounts directly to valance (no gaskets as in 67) so a separate ground wire isn't needed.
