12 Bolt Axle Tube Stamping

Is it normal for a letter on the first row of the axle tube stamping to be out of alignment or was it stamped with a gang holder like the partial VIN and engine suffix stamps?
Also, is the missing bottom leg of the letter "E" a known variation?

Re your 'Eaton' 'E' stamp. Using a flat stamp on a curved surface such as the axle tube can result in either the top or bottom (in your case) being very lightly stamped...
