Window guide roller lube
« on: April 04, 2007, 04:00:34 AM »
Hey guys,

I have not found a discussion regarding the correct or suitable lube for window guide rollers and tracks. Also, what works good to clean the old crusty stuff off all the rollers etc?

Thanks, Dan

I always use white lithium grease on the internal parts, and silicone spray on the felt tracks.  To clean the old stuff off use a rag with a solvent like brake clean on it.  Just be careful not to get the solvent on any areas that will discolor.

Thanks for the reply. I have used white lithium before but I was thinking there might be some magic stuff ;-). Brake clean makes sense. I'll give it a shot.

Thanks, Dan
