DZ302 - Do the letters and numbers look to be correct
« on: July 19, 2020, 10:41:24 PM »
With all the paint still on the pad, it is hard to see the broad marks.
Do the letters and numbers look to be correct when compared to other original DZ blocks from the same month?

The letters themselves look OK to me, but... I REALLY HATE to see a stamped pad that someone has SCRAPED on with a hard/sharp object...  it makes it very difficult to determine if a complete stamping is factory original.. The broach marks are generally very light and not easy to see with the naked eye anyway, and the scrape marks make it ... awful!

I can see broach marks there... however PLEASE DO NOT USE ANYTHING more than a rag and some stripper or thinner or you will scare some people off.

Look to the right of number 6. I see what looks like a lightly stamped 3. Perhaps a factory double strike?

Possible. I would be good to see the pad with no paint on it.

It just looks like a light hammer bounce to me.  Not hard to imagine.

When did the partial get moved to the oil filter area for the LA cars?
