While doing a last minute search for information for the thread on the 1968 International Classic at Oswego Speedway, I came across some fantastic color photos of the prior year's event that I had not seen before. These photos show that a white 1967 Camaro RS/SS convertible was used as the pace car for the 11th annual International Classic event held at the Oswego Speedway in Oswego, New York on Sunday, September 24, 1967. This car has two checkered flags surrounding the words "OSWEGO SPEEDWAY" in red letters on the door and "OFFICIAL PACE CAR" in black letters on the front fenders. There are also words on the rear quarter panels but they are illegible. Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks to be wearing a set of larger 15 inch Rally Wheels with white line tires. It also has front bumper guards, black nose stripe and what looks like a blue interior and blue convertible top. Its almost like they wanted it to resemble that year's Indy 500 pace car.
As he did in 1968, Nolan Swift won the 1967 event.
This picture was taken prior to the start of the event. It was posted several years ago at the Oswego Speedway's Glory Days Facebook page. The second is a cropped version.
