Caveat Emptor...beware the carefully worded ad

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Chevrolet-Camaro-4-SPEED-RS-SS-HIGH-QUALITY-RESTORATION/323929376087?hash=item4b6bb20557:g:paoAAOSwfKxdjTqm&vxp=mtr

Great looking car but the text description creates significant questions about its provenance. They list two VINs: 124379N622989 and 124379N594513.

N594513 was final-assembled on or about February 10, 1969. They list body tag data [no pic] as having an 03D date; 4th week of March, 1969. If that is the VIN on the dash, one or both tags are not original to the car or the body tag is repro with an incorrect date.

N622989 was final-assembled on or about March 31, 1969. If that is the VIN on the dash, the body tag could be original.

They list X55 on the body tag. That is the code for an SS350 w/o style trim, meaning it was not built as an RS. They also list 711 as the interior code. That’s the black standard interior; the car has a black custom interior.

They make this [and other] statements insinuating this is a restoration to original condition.

"Over the years, we have seen a large number of Camaro’s, many of which have been significantly modified or altered.  This example is unique in that every effort has been made in the meticulous, comprehensive “Nut & Bolt” restoration to maintain the original configuration of the RS/SS.  It is highly unusual that we see an example that has the original CA. emissions equipment, proper exhaust & manifold, carburetion, Bias Ply tires, and a host of other factory equipment.  The cars VIN # and trim tag support its production as a desirable RS/SS and the cars engine number confirms the date codes and verifies it as an original, “numbers matching” engine, and  factory produced 4-speed transmission. The Camaro is also fitted with a host of other options that improve its drivability, appearance and comfort."

It is in fact, “significantly modified or altered. “ Engine bay is a mess of incorrect parts.

The ad lists equipment not seen in the photos [N34 steering wheel, 140 speedo]. It has N66 wheels that were dropped as an option long before it was built.

Sharp car, beautifully photographed listing.  Very misleading description.
