Here are the pics I promised. The frame guide bar looks to have a finish on it, not paint. But I cannot vouch for the authenticity of this piece as it's not off a "survivor" car. But looks a lot like the same finish that Mike was talking about. Thanks

 That definitely looks like the 'plating' on mine. I figured it was originally bright zinc (judging from its now current silvery blue hue tarnish look) or a cadmium finish.
