Caveat Emptor...altered/swapped tag
« on: October 26, 2018, 12:16:07 AM »
http://www.detroit60.com/id251.htm

124379N706456...final-assembled on or about October 29,1969.

Body tag is X33D80 02B second week February, 1969.

One or both tags are not original to the car. The dash top is a reproduction meaning the VIN tag has been removed.

From the ad: As well, this is a by the numbers restoration with everything restored accurate to its original Norwood cowl tag right down to its desirable 10 10 Tuxedo Black color code.

Thanks, William. Mono-leaf perches on rear axle(67)? Look thin compared to multi-leaf perches.
I suggest this because I don't see pads about springs in perches.
Rear drum is not going to fit onto axle stub shown - aftermarket axles due to extra holes?
Rear white stripes too close to rear window?
Parking brake should be under pipes, not over them.
Should not spare tire match the ad and the other four tires?
Nice paint/reflection. I could be mistaken.

So much wrong with that car besides the big stuff. The grille emblem is a pet peeve of mine. Also not painting the edge of the grille body color is another. I'll leave it there.

Not a nice restoration for a lot of reasons.

Wasn't there an early tag for sale recently and everyone was questioning when did the D80 on the tags start. This might have been the tag.

This tag is not even close to the start of D80.
