Dealer Help:
« on: February 15, 2018, 05:57:16 PM »

All: I am usually on the other end of these posts trying to assist members with dealer info. Can anyone help identify Dealer for zone 44 Dealer code 160? Later on in 1983 this code belonged to Gordon Chevrolet. I need to find out what dealer had this code during the 60's - early 70's? I'm sure it was also a Michigan Dealer. NCRS does not have the earlier info. Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

Wonder if the dealer code numbers had any type sequence as to when assigned? It would seem that if were retired then GM could reference the number for past dealers.

Initially distributed alphabetically. Have you ever tried calling GM for assistance, no help with old info. NCRS's Chevy Muscle Docs division has the database and microfiche from GM archives and manages the information at a charge of course. The person I am working with already sent the VIN into them and they came back with zone 44 dealer 160, thought to be Gordon Chev etc. but of course it couldn't be because it's a 66 car and Gordon opened in 83, hence the search goes on.
