We all know how hard it is to find good used parts for our cars? With almost 50 year old Camaros, things like nice door panels can be like the proverbial "Golden Chicken Lips" to find! So you can imagine how stoked I was to find this LH deluxe panel for next to nothing. It even has the cutout for the remote mirror, which is what my car has!
Couple of issues, minor, I feel, I would like help on. While the window crank hole is fine on the outer side, the back cardboard is ripped. What would be the best way to keep this from deteriorating worse?? My own idea was to take that dry wall mesh and either epoxy or JB Weld and apply across that back area. Thoughts?
Next. Looks like someone put a clear coat on the panel. While most is coming off with washing or using a fingernail, how is the best way to remove this? My thought is with oven cleaner? But I do not want to ruin this panel, so I am hesitant to do anything. It is hardly noticeable only in certain light.
