Good source for ring and pinion
« on: January 21, 2017, 04:25:21 PM »
Not sure if this type of post is ok, but wondering if anyone knows a good source in their travels to find a good used 3.31 ring and pinon for a 12 bolt in my 68 BS code rear? Like someone they know who has some of these parts and may be willing to let them go. I'd like to take my car back to original ration versus what's in there now. I've following and checking some selling sites to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. If this is inappropriate please feel free to end the string. Thanks.

Yes, try the Team Camaro classifieds.

Wanted posts and for sale ads are not allowed in this forum.

Honestly though, I doubt the date on a ring and pinion would be all that important, except maybe on a COPO.

I have a GM 3.31 set without a date but it's my spare and not for sale.

Are you looking for date code correct or just correct ratio used gears?  Send me a PM.

Another good question is what gears are in it now? Many of us back then went lower in gear ratio (higher numerically) and had to change the carrier. To the op, what do you have now? Maybe someone would make a swap also. Just be careful on used gears as new ones are not that expensive.
