The factory installed speakers had the ground clip permanently attached to the speaker by little "tangs" that were crimped onto the mounting hole.  The over the counter speaker "kit" had the ground clip included, but it was not pre-attached.  Here are pics of a couple of OE speakers -

Actually, I got the picture from TEAM CAMARO. It was in a thread Bergy replied to!

And since they were pre-attached to the speaker from the factory (which I didn't know. Thanks Bergy!), you'll have to find a set of 7266055 clips and crimp them to your speakers. It appears no one is reproducing them, so you'll have to find an NOS set, but sit down when you look at the pricing!! HERE'S AN NOS ONE (that's right, ONE!!!) that sold for $80.00! (see the top picture below)

And to clarify, the middle picture below is the FACTORY speaker clip and the bottom picture below is the SERVICE speaker clip.

Just a thought....  The 2 original rear speakers that I have pictured are re-coned and sitting on my shelf.  If anybody needs them for their car - PM me.  No parts vendors please - just trying to help out if there is a car out there that needs them.   :-)

For those who asked for the dimensions of the original ground clips, here are some photos.  Sorry they are so small - working within the limitations of the allowable size here on the site.  If you need higher resolution - PM me.

Thanks Bruce! Excellent info! Could we get a material thickness and measurements on the small ground tab side ie; corner to ground tab cut in, cut in width and length, cut in to first angle.

Thanks, Doc.

material thickness is .100" and it's spring steel.  Using the major dimensions that I gave you along with my (and previous) photos - you can scale the rest.  The bends have pretty generous radii, so precise dimensions of the faces approaching bends are difficult to get.  I don't think anyone will crawl in the trunk and complain about slight variances.

Bruce, would it be possible to check the material thickness again? For comparison, two dimes stacked together is just a shade under.100". It seems kind of thick for this application but with the General who knows! Anything is possible.

Thanks, Doc.
